How To Maintain Hygiene At Home To Fight Against COVID-19?
The whole world has come to a standstill after the deadly coronavirus broke out from the most populated country of the world, China. Many people are getting affected to date in the entire globe including India. The most affected country by this deadly virus includes China, Italy, the USA, Spain, Iran, Germany, France, South Korea, the UK, Switzerland, and other European countries. India has also seen a rapid rise in the number of corona patients and therefore a 21-day National shutdown has been declared by the honorable Prime Minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi yesterday. It is believed that the only way to stop this virus from reaching Stage 3 is social distancing and maintaining hygiene at home. Let us throw light on how we can maintain hygiene to keep ourselves and our homes virus free.
Wash hands with soap regularly:
This is the most basic and obvious hygiene measure that is important to follow daily. Washing hands with soap and water kill viruses if it is done the right way. The hand needs to be washed for a minimum of 20 seconds. You should clean hands often especially after using the washroom, before eating or preparing food, after coming in contact with an ill person or pets, after blowing the nose, coughing or sneezing, before and after child care and so on.
Do not touch eyes, nose or mouth frequently:
The coronavirus enters through nose, mouth or eyes and therefore avoids touching these three sensing organs unnecessarily, especially with unwashed hands. Maintain personal hygiene and clean with water only if there is an emergency in case of eyes, nose or mouth. Use mask wherever necessary especially while cooking, coughing or sneezing.
Clean and disinfect high-touch areas of household common areas such as light switches, doorknobs, remotes, laptops, tables, chairs, toilets, sinks, etc. Wear gloves while disinfecting and cleaning using soap and water. Do not compile dirty clothes and wash them daily. Warm water can be an effective option while disinfecting homes.
Eat well and exercise:
Eat a healthy meal to build stronger immunity. Try to include basil leaves, turmeric, gooseberry and fresh fruits in daily diet. You cannot go outside but you can work out inside your home. So do not skip your minimum 30 minutes of exercise.
